Preserving the Heritage of Central Appalachia

Appalachian Black Community Developers is a coalition of Black-led nonprofits dedicated to preserving the rich heritage, amplifying the voices, and advancing the future of Black communities in Central Appalachia. Through collaboration, advocacy, and resource-sharing, we strive to uplift our shared history while driving sustainable progress in education, economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and social justice. Rooted in common lived experiences, resilience and unity, we work to ensure that Black communities in Appalachia not only thrive but shape their own destinies for generations to come.
